Creating bevel effects A bevel effect adds 3D depth to a graphic or text object by making its edges appear sloped (cut at an angle). Bevel effects can contain both spot and process (CMYK) colors, so they are ideal for printing. You can remove a bevel effect at any time. Bevel effects can be applied only to vector objects and text, not to bitmaps. The first thing that comes to mind is to apply the 3D Extrude & Bevel effect to create a bevel on the editable text. You would usually type your text, select it, then go to Effect  3D  Extrude & Bevel. Then, in the dialog box you would select the Front for Position preset, Classic Bevel, set the height and tick Preview option.
Double click the original text layer to apply the following Layer Style: – Bevel and Emboss: Change the Style to Stroke Emboss, the Technique to Chisel Hard, the Size to 10, the Gloss Contour to Cone – Inverted, check the Anti-aliased box, change the Highlight Mode to Vivid Light, its color to #e8ebf0, and the Shadow Mode color to #08324b.

Open the file NP_WD16_4a_FirstLastName_1.docx, available for download from the SAM website. 
Save the file as NP_WD16_4a_FirstLastName_2.docx by changing the '1' to a '2'. 
0. If you do not see the .docx file extension in the Save As dialog box, do not type it. The program will add the file extension for you automatically. 
To complete this SAM Project, you will also need to download and save the following data files from the SAM website:

With the file NP_WD16_4a_FirstLastName_2.docx still open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the footer.

PROJECT STEPS 
As a member of the Missouri Memorial Hospital Auction Committee, you are adding and formatting graphics in a letter and handout for committee members. Start by formatting the Auction graphic on page 1 as follows: 
a. Apply the correction Brightness: 0% (Normal) Contrast: +20% to the graphic. 
b. Position the graphic using the Top Right with Square Text Wrapping option. 
c. Apply the Reflected Rounded Rectangle picture style. 
Apply the Title style to the paragraph 'Auction Fundraiser'. 
On page 2, use WordArt to format text as follows: 
d. Select the entire paragraph 'MMH Auction Update' including the paragraph mark, and then apply the Fill - Aqua, Accent 3, Sharp Bevel WordArt style. (Hint: Depending on your version of Office, the WordArt style may display as Fill: Aqua, Accent color 3; Sharp Bevel instead.) 
e. Apply the Can Up text effect from the Warp section of the Transform gallery. (Hint: Depending on your version of Office, the Transform may display as Warp Up instead.) 
f. Change the text wrapping to Top and Bottom.

n. Resize the shape to a height of 0.5' and a width of 0.5'. 
o. Apply Tight text wrapping. 
p. Apply the Moderate Effect – Aqua, Accent 3 shape style.

r. Crop the picture to the Rounded Rectangle shape from the Rectangles section of the Crop to Shape gallery. s. Apply the Dark Blue, Text 2 (4th column, 1st row in the Theme Colors palette) picture border color. 
On page 4, to draw attention to information about a previous auction, insert and format a sidebar text box as follows: 
t. Move the insertion point anywhere in the heading 'Donations', and then insert a Facet Sidebar (Left) text box.

Add a 0.2' hanging indent to the list of donors beginning 'All-Star Fitness' and ending 'Winston Heywood'. 
Insert a copyright sign symbol and a space before the text 'Copyright 2020.' 
Your document should look like the Final Figure on the following pages. Save your changes, close the document, and then exit Word. Follow the directions on the SAM website to submit your completed project.
